AFTERIMAGE is a durational installation that combines video, theatre lighting and sound.
One of the main subjects of AFTERIMAGE is the idea of motion: not movement in space but the space itself being moved in different ways, horizontally, vertically, zooming in and out.
Video and lights are used in an unconventional way: they are brought into a dialogue where the light of these sources merges. The sound scape works as a third agent connecting light and darkness and proposing possible readings.
AFTERIMAGE functions as a spatial poem in which abstract forms like circles and lines help to concentrate on spatiality. Besides the psychophysiological phenomenon of afterimage, the name of the installation could also be understood as AFTER THE IMAGE, which works as an inspiration and a strategy for a choreography for light.
AFTERIMAGE I and AFTERIMAGE II+III was presented at JULIDANS in Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam 3 – 10 July, 2018, a collaboration with Minna Tiikkainen, Helle Lyshøj and Susanna Brenner
