Since 2019, KAIROS has been growing into different shapes and sizes, although it is made of metal and textile thread, it seems to behave in an extremely organic way, it’s an expanding universe, a sort of industrial mycelium - it has a life of its own. For the exhibition Tongues , KAIROS #8 _NESTING will grow into a nest-like installation, the visitors are invited “to nestle” themselves within the cocoon, they are surrounded by a soundscape emanating from multiple small speakers, a loop of stories and memories creating a collective narrative. Home or HEIMAT is not only confined to physical spaces; it is a portable sanctuary within. It encapsulates the belief that one can carry this inner sanctuary anywhere, filling it with memories that transcend borders.
By sharing one’s “inner space”, I hope we can achieve a true sanctuary, a place where we can feel connected to each other, despite our differences.
